A little bit of everything

Mixed in with all the end of school stuff and house moving, we had a few other things going on….

A birthday party at the Akron Zoo

Outdoor Weekend at Camp Luz with our church

A cousin sleepover!

Celebrating my niece's (Sophie) graduation (and I don’t even have a picture with her!)

Lighting sparklers and popping poppers (Jeremy’s been waiting forever to do this!)

Celebrating Father’s Day with a bang!

And walking with my mom through some pretty tough times.  This really won’t do it justice, but she had a lawn mower accident which damaged the ring finger on her left hand and severed the tip of her middle finger on the same hand.  We are grateful it wasn’t worse because after my dad’s initial phone call, I pretty much thought she had a pinky and a thumb left on that hand!  She is healing and her fingers are showing resiliency in their ability to regain strength and usage.  She also had eye surgery for a whole in her macular caused by the shedding of the viscous.  (I think I got that all right.)  She is hoping to regain full vision, but it will be a few months til she knows.  She is a witness to taking one day at a time and not quitting.  She is diligent (maybe to the extreme) with her therapy for her fingers.  She takes precautions as her eye heals.  And yet, she is still serving others.  My sister-in-law has been laid up for weeks with her back (and finally had surgery a few weeks ago).  My mom’s first thought after injuring her hand was not what she had lost, but how she wouldn't’ be able to help Steph and the family out.  I can only hope that I become more generous with my time, skills, and energy as I grow older.  With age comes generosity??

I have a few more blogs and then I will be officially caught up… and hopefully stay on track the remainder of the summer, and maybe the year!
