First Day of School

The time has finally come – a new school year. New teachers. New memories. New things to learn.

I am so thankful that my kids enjoy school – for the most part.  They enjoy being with their friends, meeting new friends to hang out with, figuring out new teachers, and learning new things.  Not every moment is perfect and filled with rainbows and glitter.  But they are happy in that place.  And I am so thankful.

We had open house this year.  Ellie got to see 3 classrooms.  This is a shift for fourth grade as they get introduced into the idea of having different teachers for different content areas.

Madison got a new locker and new teachers for her sixth grade year!

Here are the official first day pictures.

Me (no picture), year 15. Caseload of 17 students in grades 7 and 8.  Pray for me as I work with each of these students and more.  It is always my hope that through me the students see their potential.  That they realize that God created them to be the way they are and He will give them the courage to believe in what they are created for.  I think that many of them just think they can’t, don’t know how, won’t ever.  Some of their self-talk is so defeating.  I see so much more.  So, pray that they, too, would see it.
