Say What??

Before I forget to write it down somewhere, and while I am thinking about it, here are some things Madison says that make us shake our heads.

Tonight:
Madison: Daddy, can I have another treat?
Daddy: No.
Madison: I will go ask Mommy.
Daddy: You can ask Mommy, but she will say no.
(Madison comes to ask, I say no.)
Daddy: What did Mommy say?
Madison: No
Daddy:  That's what I had told you she would say.  Isn't Daddy so smart?  Say, Daddy you're smart!
Madison: Daddy, you're fart!
(Repeat last two lines over and over again.)  Then, Jeremy tells her to say "Daddy you're old and smart" which comes out "Daddy you're old fart!"  This kept Jeremy - and me - laughing for quite some time.

The other day:
Madison and I were playing outside with rocks using our imagination to make them different things - animals mainly.  Then, this happens,
Madison: Mommy, these are bi-ches (add the "t" at the dash)
Me: What?
Madison: These are the bi-ches to sit on.
Me: Oh, I like those benches.
Madison: Here is a bi-ch for you, Mommy.
Me (laughing internally, and sad no one was around to share this moment): Thank you, Madison.

Other things that just aren't quite right...
the animal with the long trunk - an elfalent (elephant)
where you can stay on a vacation - a cab (cabin)
where Madison would spend most of her day - the fing (swing)

And there are more, but they don't come to mind at the moment.  She has a blossoming vocabulary that she continues to expand... just not always perfectly.  She learned the word duet tonight when were reading "If You Were a Penguin."  We sang a duet (Jesus loves the little children), and then when I sang it to her for her night time song, she started singing with me.  Then, she says, "Mommy we just sang a duet!"  Man, I really love that kid!  If I could just tuck away all the joy she brings me, I would be a rich woman.  My cup runneth over!

Yes, she is cute!!! When we count our blessings she is among the first!!! Keep jotting down those cute things she says!

We noticed yesterday, that Ellie is jabbering a lot, too. So you better get a bigger notebook, because I think she will try to keep up with Madison in talking.

Ear plugs for Christmas? LOL

Love,

Papa Yoh
