Daddy Daughter Dance

April 30…

One of the highlights each year for my kids.  And it has also been a good way for Jeremy to get to know other dads.  My understanding is that the girls takeover the dance floor – often in an incredibly loud and frantic way.  The dads, in contrast, seek refuge on the outskirts and talk.  Then, at times they join forces for some slow dances and dads have a moment to shine in the Dad Dance off moment.  (The moms seek the two hours of refuge doing hopefully something relaxing to them where no one is dictating something that needs done.)

This will be Madison’s last year to do this.  Perhaps, we will do a mommy-daughter date night on the same night.  We’ll see.

The pressure of this night for me is being able to create a hair-do that will withstand a flurry of activity, but looks special for the night.  Enter Pinterest and the highest of hopes in my ability to be a beautician.  This year, I felt pretty successful.

Here are some photos before going…

Here is the picture at the dance.  The theme this year was Encanto – the hit Disney movie.
