A Few Highlights

Lehman’s had their summer celebration sometime in July.  (Yeah, I know, it’s August already.)  The girls always enjoy going to look around, but also to get some facepaint, play games, and sample a few jellies.  Here are the designs they chose this year:

The past three years we have attended Vacation Bible School at Stanwood Community Church.  They do a great job.  I am always amazed at the number of volunteers that come out to help serve that week – both young and old.  The girls really enjoy it as well.  It is a unique experience for them in that they usually know only a few people if any in their class.  So, it pushes their comfort zones a bit.  These pictures are on the last night when they sang out their hearts.  They are a little blurry because I really zoomed in with my phone.

We were gifted a tiny caterpillar from friends.  it was all black and barely visible against the milkweed leaf in the jar.  We watched this little critter devour leaves (poop a lot) and grow so fast!  It was an amazing experience to watch.  Right now it is in its chrysilis and we are waiting for the metamorphosis to be complete!  Here it is about a week after we got it.

There are some big sunflowers growing outside our home right now.  They are growing rogue, planted by the birds that were eating our sunflower seeds from the feeder.  While they aren’t in the most ideal location, I am quite enjoying their beauty as well. IMG_5266
