One thing on our bucket list was the Monterey Bay Aquarium; we had heard really good things about it. So, we set aside some time to go. There was a line to get in, but it moved quickly, and while it was busy, it was not unenjoyable. Everyone was there for the first couple hours.
We got hypnotized in the room with swimming fish swirling around and around and around above us.
Then, we just couldn’t stop taking pictures because jelly fish are crazy beautiful!
We also so some very unique creatures of the sea. I was particularly intrigued by the deep sea spiny crab!
But there were also sea pens, coral, sand dollars (did you know they are furry in the water??), and so much more. So, here is the overload of pictures.
What was cool is the aquarium sat right on the bay to the ocean so you could also just watch uncaptured wildlife on their viewing docks.
Our van had packed lunch, so we ate outside on some benches and then returned for a few more sights.
From there we headed to 17-mile drive at Pebble Beach Golf Club. Jeremy and I had gone when we visited a number of years ago, and the views were stunning. The views were again impressive, but the skies weren’t as blue
and the wind was like standing in a polar vortex, but I still think it was worth it. (I don’t know if you can see Jeremy’s super short, but definitely wind-whipped hair, but I think the girls’ hair demonstrates the wind!)
Our last stop was the beach at Carmel-by-the-Sea and some shopping around the town.
A highlight (especially for Ellie) were these two dogs that greeted us on the beach – one very much reminiscent of Pepper.
Oh yes, we had supper out this night – some good, ole In N Out Burger! Arturo was a first timer.
