Jeremy wanted to go bird watching one Saturday afternoon. While this is not really my thing, the girls wanted to go, and it is fun to find things to do as a family. So, we loaded everyone in the car – even the dog! – and headed to his old stomping grounds, the Killbuck Marsh Wildlife Area. He said when he was growing up here, he didn’t realize that this was a unique place. Then, he went to college and his one college class took a field trip here to see the birds. So, it’s pretty cool to have something like this in your own backyard.
The roads were pretty populated with ruts and huge puddles that weren’t necessarily negotiable with our minivan; therefore, some of our adventuring was cut short. But we still had fun seeing things. Madison tried her hand at using my camera and caught some good images of the swans.

Pepper got out to explore a bit, too. And was better behaved than I imagined he would have been.
We let his uncle David and aunt Marianne know we were in the area and had things to drop off. They were home. There was also a spaghetti benefit meal going on at a local church. So, they picked up some extra spaghetti meals, and we joined them for supper, which was a nice way to end the adventure out.
